The purpose of this certificate program is to enhance marketability of students. AEI strives to confirm special skills and knowledge to students and provide educational opportunities and continuing education to otherwise underserved segments of the community.
AEI accomplishes this through short term programs. This certificate program is designed to provide a certification of specialization for individuals wanting to enter the Health Care Field. This course also prepares the student to take The State Certification test which is needed before entering the field.
CNA Certificate Program:
The “Certified Nursing Assistant” (CNA) program taught at AEI is designed to prepare individuals wanting to enter the health care field. Certified nursing assistants (CNAs), also known as nurse aides, orderlies, and home health aides, work under the supervision of a nurse and provide assistance to patients with daily living tasks. CNAs are responsible for basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding patients, assisting nurses with medical equipment, and checking patient vital signs.
Class Length:
The Certified Nursing Assistant program is a 12 week course. It is taught two days a week in four hour sessions.
During your training there will be lab procedures which will teach you the skills needed to be a care giver
At the end of your training you will do "clinical work" where you will apply first hand the skills you have learned in a real medical setting.
